🌟 About the Role
- Join one of South Africa’s most iconic performing arts venues and become part of the team that brings theatre, music, and dance to life. As a Front of House Usher, you’ll ensure every patron has a warm welcome and a seamless theatre experience.
🎭 Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and guide patrons to their seats
- Check and scan tickets at entrances
- Provide venue information (restrooms, emergency exits, refreshments)
- Maintain tidiness in the foyer and auditorium
- Perform safety checks (seating, lighting, lost property)
- Handle patron queries and complaints professionally
- Assist guests with special needs and mobility issues
- Be ready for emergency evacuations and health & safety procedures
- Collaborate with the Front of House team, security, and cleaning staff
- Promote upcoming shows and events
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Prior customer service experience preferred (but not essential)
- Languages: Fluent in at least two of the following – English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa
- Friendly, reliable, and punctual
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Flexible to work weekends and evenings
- Interested in arts and culture is a plus
