About the Absa Fellowship Programme:
The Absa Fellowship Programme is a transformative initiative designed to foster entrepreneurship, leadership, and empower young talent to become changemakers in their communities and industries. With a strong focus on financial inclusion and sustainability, this programme equips future leaders with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to actively drive growth and innovation in Africa.
Each year, 50 applicants are selected based on their potential, passion, and purpose. These fellows will be prepared to become leaders in the private or public sectors or as entrepreneurs, aiming to make a positive impact and advance sustainability in their communities.
Do You Fit the Profile of a Fellow We’re Looking For?
We are seeking young, emerging leaders who meet the following criteria:

Age: Between 18 and 25 years old.

Academic Record: A pass mark of 65% or higher (applicants can submit their June 2025 preliminary results or final matric results).

Field of Study: Applicants should be enrolling as a first-year undergraduate student at a public university in South Africa in 2026 and pursuing a degree in one of the following fields:

Commerce
-
Humanities and Social Sciences
-
Science (including Health Science, excluding Medical or Veterinary Studies)
-
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
-
Creative Arts
-
Digital/Data Design
-
Important: Applications must be submitted in the name of the prospective student who will be attending the tertiary institution, not by a parent or guardian.
The Application Process
Phase 1: Pre-screening
Prospective students are pre-screened to determine if they meet the minimum requirements before proceeding to phase 2.
Phase 2: Psychometric Assessment
Only applicants who pass the pre-screening will receive a voucher code via email from Absafellowship@fundi.co.za to access the psychometric assessment.
Phase 3: Shortlisting
Applicants will be shortlisted based on the scores obtained in the psychometric assessment.
Phase 4: Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.

Deadline: Applications close on 10 September 2025. No late applications will be accepted.

The application must be submitted using the prospective student’s own details (name, email, phone number, etc.). Applications using the details of a parent or guardian will not be considered.

Data Privacy Regulations: No communication will be entertained with parents or guardians. Only service providers involved in the application process will be contacted.

Eligibility: Applications are open to all prospective students, not just children or relatives of Absa’s employees. No preference will be given to any applicants.
