Nova Pioneer is looking for a Business Studies Teacher to join their Ormonde Secondary in Johannesburg, South Africa. About the Role:
The Business Studies Teacher will begin in January 2026. Teachers at Nova Pioneer lead instruction for subject or grade level classrooms, creating a rigorous and inquiry-based learning environment. Teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who observe lessons, provide feedback, and offer coaching for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Design rigorous lesson plans in collaboration with learning designers.

Deliver impactful and engaging lessons supported by technology.

Observe, coach, and mentor new teachers.

Infuse passion and excitement into lessons, inspiring students’ academic excellence.

Set and communicate ambitious goals for students, providing feedback that helps them internalize it.

Assess student progress and adjust instructional techniques accordingly.

Attend weekly feedback meetings to enhance teaching practices.

Participate in professional growth opportunities, including team meetings, PD sessions, and coaching.

Communicate regularly with parents via email, phone, and conferences.

Contribute to co-curricular programming (e.g., sports, clubs) each term.

Participate in collaborative teams, committees, and school events, including supervision duties.
Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s Degree + Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

A major in Economics, Business Science, or Business Management up to the 3rd year level.

Experience teaching Business Studies up to Grade 12.
-
SACE registered.

Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum (advantageous).

Ability to independently manage a classroom.

Passion for teaching and student success.

Strong understanding and enthusiasm for inquiry-based, student-centered learning.

Excellent use of technology in the classroom.
