Position Overview:
This College Internship offers a unique opportunity to develop as a competent and motivated teacher, with a focus on Physical Science and/or Mathematics. You will gain valuable practical experience, mentorship, and exposure to best practices in teaching while contributing meaningfully to the school community. This internship also includes funding for tuition at the University of South Africa (UNISA) or equivalent rates.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Physical Science and/or Mathematics lessons, participate in classroom activities, and gradually take on supervised teaching responsibilities (lesson planning, assessment, etc.).

Actively engage in the broader school community through participation in sports, cultural, leadership, and service programmes.

Participate in structured mentorship and professional development, including weekly sessions with experienced educators and access to workshops that enhance teaching practice.

Balance academic progress with school responsibilities, demonstrating professionalism and commitment to the school’s values.

Adhere to school policies, contribute to service initiatives, and participate in regular performance evaluations.
Minimum Requirements:

First-year student enrolled in a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) programme.

Registered for South African Certificate of Education (SACE).

Strong motivation to enter the teaching profession and an eagerness to learn.

Basic technology skills for classroom and administrative use.

Willingness to coach sports and engage in co-curricular activities.

Commitment to the school’s values and involvement in school life.
