About Constantia Waldorf School:

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Afrikaans First Additional Language (FAL) teacher with experience in the CAPS curriculum to join our dynamic academic team.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will inspire students through Waldorf pedagogy, nurturing both academic and personal growth. This role involves teaching Afrikaans FAL to Grades 8–12, preparing students for their DBE (WCED) exams, and engaging actively with parents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Afrikaans FAL to Grades 8–12, ensuring alignment with the CAPS curriculum.

Foster a love for the Afrikaans language and promote critical thinking and independent learning.

Integrate technology into teaching to enhance the learning experience.

Contribute to the school’s co-curricular and Waldorf extra-mural programmes.

Participate in ongoing Waldorf teacher training and professional development.

Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Collaborate with the academic team to strive for pedagogical excellence.

Be involved in the school’s broader community and engage with parents about student progress.
Qualifications & Experience:

Proven academic record with an appropriate professional qualification in teaching Afrikaans.

Experience teaching Afrikaans FAL at the Grade 8–12 level.

Experience with the CAPS curriculum is essential.

Matric marking experience would be an advantage.

Current SACE accreditation.

Commitment to ongoing Waldorf teacher training.

Passion for teaching and nurturing a love for Afrikaans.

Excellent knowledge of the Afrikaans language and culture.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
