Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Handyman to provide efficient and effective planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and remedial works. This role involves attending to breakdowns, ensuring the facility remains in good working order, and complying with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance and repairs for building-related issues, including plumbing, painting, carpentry, welding, and general handyman tasks.

Carry out repairs on furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.

Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and competently.

Clean the work area upon completion of each job.

Maintain tools and ensure they are kept in good working condition.

Provide support for both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks.

Conduct inspections and follow up on planned preventative maintenance.

Ensure work is carried out in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act).

Supervise and oversee sub-contractors when necessary, ensuring cleanliness and safety after work is completed.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, warranties, and licenses.

Address customer queries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.

Competency with hand and power tools.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Experience in supplier and sub-contractor supervision.

Customer-centric with strong emotional intelligence.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

Detail-oriented and methodical in approach to work.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Matric (Grade 12).
-
NQF Level 4 technical qualification (advantageous).

2-5 years of experience in a similar environment.
