This prestigious boarding school, situated in Henley-on-Klip, Meyerton, provides high-quality education to over 300 students from Grades 8–12, with learners writing the Independent Examination Board (IEB) NSC Examination.


Position Overview

The Senior Educational Psychologist will oversee the day-to-day operations, strategy development, and implementation of psychological services at the Academy. This position reports directly to the Head of Student Affairs and plays a key role in promoting the holistic development and emotional well-being of learners through evidence-based interventions and trauma-informed care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology.

  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

  • Valid and up-to-date CPD portfolio.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Educational Psychologist (preferably in a school environment).

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or leadership role.

  • Proven experience working with vulnerable learners and those with a history of trauma.

  • Experience in multi-disciplinary collaboration and developing learner support systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of the Psychology Unit.

  • Develop and implement departmental strategies, SOPs, and policies aligned with OWLAG’s goals.

  • Deliver psychological and counselling services to students.

  • Lead crisis management initiatives and promote trauma-informed practices.

  • Monitor budgets, prepare reports, and ensure HPCSA compliance.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

  • Foster student wellness through evidence-based programmes.
