About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join a reputable heavy vehicle service team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
-
Accurately diagnose faults found and reported on vehicles (troubleshooting).

Perform servicing and repairs efficiently according to MAN specifications and service sheets.

Conduct road tests on repaired vehicles when required.
-
Adhere strictly to workshop quality, safety, and security procedures.

Report additional faults not listed on the job card.

Maintain productivity and efficiency to required standards.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
-
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
-
N3 qualification and a Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate
-
Dual trade certification will be advantageous
Skills:
-
Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly motivated

Strong communication and interpersonal skills (oral & written)

Customer-focused with a results-driven mindset

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Valid EC or EC1 driver’s licence
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years post-trade experience in the heavy commercial vehicle industry

At least 3 years working with MAN and/or VW heavy commercial vehicles

1 year experience using MAN CATS 3 diagnostic system
