REQUIREMENTS:

NQF level 1 or 2 (Grade 8 or 9) (AET/ABET level 2 certificate) from a recognized institution of Basic Education

Knowledge and skills in:
-
Good communication skills
-
Physically fit and in good health
-
Able to work under pressure and in different working conditions (including outdoor environments)
-
Knowledge of different building maintenance and cleaning methods, such as paving maintenance, bush clearing, firebreak creation, soil erosion control, etc.

DUTIES:
-
Perform routine maintenance activities in the district
-
Ensure cleaning and maintenance tasks, including cutting, collecting, and using raw materials for restoration and renovation
-
Clean structures and care for allocated working tools and equipment
-
Perform landscaping tasks, such as controlling water streams to prevent soil erosion
-
Debush and clear weeds around premises and surroundings
-
Create and maintain fire breaks around the district and surroundings
-
Perform any manual labor necessary for effective care and maintenance
