Position Overview:
St Mary’s DSG invites passionate and motivated individuals to apply for an Internship in the High School Phase for the 2026 academic year. The internship program offers candidates the opportunity to gain practical teaching experience in the following subjects:

Mathematics
-
Business Studies/Accounting
-
Physical Sciences
-
Sport
The successful candidates will receive a one-year contract to intern with St Mary’s, and the role includes full involvement in the school’s activities and a strong focus on personal and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Assist with the delivery of lessons in the subject areas of Mathematics, Business Studies/Accounting, Physical Sciences, or Sport.

Work and live within the Boarding Establishment as part of the school community.

Actively participate in two extra-mural activities per week.

Be open to mentoring and coaching for teaching development, including honing instructional skills.

Demonstrate flexibility in assisting across various aspects of school life, including academics and extracurricular activities.

Be involved in the School’s Christian ethos and uphold the values of warmth, honesty, and a strong work ethic.

Integrate IT into teaching and be willing to learn and develop new technological teaching skills.

Work effectively within an inclusive educational environment.
Requirements:

Willingness to live and work in the Boarding Establishment.

Study towards a PGCE in 2026.

A passion for school life, strong work ethic, and a commitment to the Christian ethos of St Mary’s.

Flexibility to assist in multiple areas of teaching and extracurricular activities.

High competency in IT integrated teaching and a readiness to learn new skills.

Ability to work in an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Police clearance certificate and clearance from the Sexual Offenders Register will be required for the successful candidate.
