Position Overview:
St Mary’s DSG is offering Primary School Internships in both the Foundation Phase (Grade R–3) and the Senior Primary Phase (Grade 4–7). This one-year internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience in a dynamic school environment.
The internship aims to nurture future educators who will make a positive impact on their students, their community, and the educational sector as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:

Teaching Support: Assist in delivering lessons and managing classrooms in either the Foundation or Senior Primary Phase.

Extra-Mural Activities: Be flexible and take part in two extra-mural activities per week, contributing to the holistic development of students.

Mentorship: Participate in the mentorship program, which focuses on developing teaching and pastoral care skills.

IT Integration: Incorporate technology into lessons and learning activities, and be open to learning new IT skills.

Inclusive Environment: Work in an inclusive educational setting, ensuring that all students are supported in their learning.
Requirements:

Study towards a teaching qualification relevant to the phase you are applying for (to be completed in 2026).

Warm and honest personality with an interest in school life and a strong work ethic.

Strong alignment with the Christian ethos of the school.

Flexibility in assisting across various aspects of school life, including teaching and extracurricular activities.

High competency in IT and willingness to further develop your skills in tech-integrated teaching.

Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Police clearance certificate and clearance from the Sexual Offenders Register will be required.
