Job Description:
ADvTECH, a prominent education provider in Africa, is looking for a dynamic and skilled Tourism and Life Orientation Teacher to join Abbotts High School in Rondebosch, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality education to the FET phase students, focusing on preparing them for life after school while fostering a future-focused, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Academic Delivery: Plan, organize, and implement effective instructional programs for Tourism and Life Orientation.

Assessment & Reporting: Regularly assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.

Student Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, students, parents, and the broader community to create a well-rounded educational experience.

School Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the school’s values and ethos in all professional and extracurricular activities.

Health & Safety: Maintain a safe environment for both students and staff.
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE or B. Education (FET) with specialization in Tourism and Life Orientation.

SACE Certification and a Police Clearance are essential.

2-5 years of teaching experience in the FET phase.

2-5 years of specialist subject teaching in Tourism and Life Orientation.

Computer and digital literacy skills.

First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
