Orion College is an English-medium remedial school in Randpark Ridge that caters to learners with diverse learning barriers, neurodiversities, and mixed abilities. The school offers three educational streams supported by a multidisciplinary therapeutic team.
Role Summary:
Orion College seeks a skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic Foundation Phase Teacher with a passion for remedial education. The successful candidate will have expertise in teaching the Foundation Phase CAPS curriculum and supporting learners with a range of learning barriers.
Minimum Requirements:

Relevant Teaching Degree from a recognised institution.

SACE registration and current Police Clearance.

Proven experience teaching in the Foundation Phase.
Competencies & Skills:
-
Remedial teaching qualification or experience in a remedial environment.

Strong understanding of CAPS and GDE ATPs.
-
Excellent teaching ability in English, Afrikaans, and Mathematics.
-
Proficient in differentiation and curriculum adaptation.
-
Ability to identify and support learning barriers.
-
Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
-
High standard of English (spoken and written).

Passionate about remedial education and learner growth.
-
Computer literate and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Duties:
-
Serve as class teacher for a Foundation Phase class.
-
Teach core Foundation Phase subjects (Maths, English, Afrikaans, Life Skills, and Art).

Assess and track learner performance and progress.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and liaise with parents, teachers, and therapists.

Engage in extra-curricular activities and school events.
