Role Summary:
Orion College seeks a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic Intermediate Phase Teacher to serve as the Grade 7 subject and class teacher, with a focus on English and Social Sciences. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching learners with learning barriers and a strong grasp of the Grade 5–7 CAPS curricula.
Minimum Requirements:

Relevant Teaching Degree from a recognised institution.

SACE registration and current Police Clearance.
-
Experience teaching the Grade 5–7 CAPS curriculum.

Knowledge and experience teaching Afrikaans and Social Sciences.
Competencies & Skills:
-
Remedial teaching qualification or experience in a remedial environment.
-
Solid understanding of GDE ATPs and the CAPS curriculum.
-
Excellent teaching ability in English, Afrikaans, and Mathematics (Intermediate Phase level).
-
High proficiency in English (spoken and written).
-
Skilled in differentiation and learner support.
-
Strong organisational, communication, and time management abilities.
-
Passion for remedial education, adaptable, and self-motivated.

Ability to work under pressure and within a collaborative team.

Computer literate.
Key Duties:
-
Serve as class teacher for Grade 7.
-
Teach Grade 5–7 English and Social Sciences.

Assess and track learner progress, identifying intervention needs.
-
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
-
Liaise with parents, therapists, and colleagues.

Participate in extra-curricular activities and fulfil other school duties as required.
