Programme Overview:

The Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) Bursary Programme provides financial and experiential support to outstanding learners and tertiary students. The programme offers:

  • Tuition at a university of your choice (conditions apply)

  • Financial support covering tuition, meals, accommodation, stationery, and allowances

  • Vacation work experience at Mercedes-Benz East London


Who Can Apply:

  • South African citizens

  • Residents of the Eastern Cape (advantageous)

  • Grade 12 learners or full-time tertiary students (1st-year students have added advantage)

  • Fields of study eligible:

    • Computer Engineering / IT / Software Development

    • Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering

    • Mechatronics

    • Metallurgy

    • Metrology

    • Analytical Chemistry / Chemical Engineering (BSc)

    • Finance / Accounting / Economics

    • Supply Chain / Logistics

    • Human Kinetics & Ergonomics

Exclusions:

  • Employees of Mercedes-Benz South Africa Group of Companies


Selection Criteria:

  • Grade 12 learners: Overall average ≥70%, Mathematics/Physical Science ≥65% (engineering streams)

  • Tertiary students: Minimum 65% average in most recent semester

  • Submission of latest academic results and final matric certificate

  • Final-year academic results considered for shortlisted candidates

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 third-term results (current learners) or full tertiary record (including matric certificate if currently studying)

  • Certified copy of ID document
