Job Description:
Summerhill Private School seeks an Afrikaans Teacher for IEB Grades 8–10 and CAIE IG1 & IG2. The role includes developing learning and teaching materials, assessing students according to IEB and Cambridge requirements, and supporting the school’s ethos, co-curricular programmes, and pastoral care.
Requirements:

Proven academic record and minimum 5 years teaching experience in Afrikaans

Professional teaching qualification
-
SACE registration (or valid conditional/provisional registration)

Clear criminal/sexual offences record

Experience developing teaching and assessment materials for IEB and Cambridge curricula

Experience in IEB Matric marking advantageous

Fluent in Afrikaans (written and oral) and English

Creative, innovative, organised, self-motivated, and proactive

Computer literate and prepared to engage with 21st-century teaching methodologies

Willingness to work outside normal school hours

Undergo child protection screening
