The SARAO Graduate-In-Training Programme offers recent graduates an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting fields of radio astronomy, engineering, data science, and technology.
This 3-year structured programme bridges the gap between academic study and professional work, giving graduates exposure to cutting-edge projects, mentorship, and real-world problem-solving in one of South Africa’s most advanced scientific environments.
Graduates will have the chance to contribute to significant national and international research initiatives — including projects related to the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), the world’s largest radio telescope.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a qualification in one of the following:

BEng/BScEng (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical/Mechatronics, Civil)

BEng/BScEng (Computer Science) or BSc (Hons) Computer Science

BEng or BTech (Civil Engineering)

MSc (Electronics, Radio Frequency, Antennas)
