Job Summary
An opportunity exists for graduates requiring experiential training in the fields of:

The Experiential Training Programme is a structured 15-month initiative designed to provide practical workplace experience to students who have completed the theoretical component of their National Diploma in relevant science disciplines.
Minimum Requirements

Matric certificate and successful completion of two years of theoretical training towards a National Diploma in:
-
Biotechnology
-
Microbiology
-
Environmental Sciences
-
Analytical Chemistry
-
-
Must be a South African Citizen with a valid SA ID.
-
Must be under the age of 35, in line with NSDS requirements.
-
Must not have participated in any previous experiential learning programmes.
-
Must require this training to fulfil National Diploma requirements.

Primary Duties
-
Apply basic principles of ISO 17025.
-
Collect samples for water quality monitoring.
-
Prepare media, reagents, and samples for analysis.
-
Perform analytical testing on collected samples.
-
Record, verify, and document results on designated databases.
-
Conduct and document quality control checks on analytical tests.
-
Maintain equipment, instruments, biological cultures, and test kits.
-
Ensure adherence to SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) practices and good housekeeping standards.
Knowledge
-
Solid theoretical background in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or Analytical Chemistry.
Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Computer literacy (Word and Excel proficiency).

Organisational, planning, and prioritisation abilities.
