Lead Agrinet’s irrigation growth strategy, expanding market share, optimising products, and achieving sustainable profitability across South Africa and neighbouring markets. The role combines strategic leadership, sales management, and team development.


Key Responsibilities

Market Development & Growth Strategy

  • Develop comprehensive growth plans for the irrigation sector

  • Conduct industry research to identify new opportunities

  • Evaluate competitors and position Agrinet as market leader

  • Implement competitive pricing models

  • Engage with irrigation associations and professional bodies

Sales & Revenue Achievement

  • Translate revenue objectives into clear sales targets

  • Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, and clients

  • Implement account management practices

  • Monitor sales trends and take corrective actions

  • Lead negotiations for long-term client agreements

  • Collaborate with finance for forecasting and budgeting

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead technical and specialist irrigation sales team

  • Conduct performance reviews and mentorship

  • Identify training needs and provide structured learning

  • Deliver product training internally and externally

  • Foster a culture of accountability and innovation

Data-Driven Insights & Reporting

  • Collect and analyse sales/client data

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports with actionable insights

  • Benchmark performance against competitors

  • Monitor cost and currency trends affecting profitability

Innovation, Technology & Process Improvement

  • Identify and evaluate new irrigation technologies

  • Improve supply chain and sales processes

  • Lead product introduction projects

  • Recommend operational improvements to reduce costs while maintaining quality


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales Management, Business Administration, Irrigation Science, Agricultural Engineering, or related field

  • Relevant certification in irrigation system design, installation, or water management preferred

  • Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience managing a national or regional sales team

  • Proven track record in developing and executing sales strategies in agriculture, irrigation, or allied industries
