The U16A hockey coach plays a targeted role in elevating the technical and tactical quality of the St Mary’s hockey programme. This position will provide additional expertise, stability, and alignment to the coaching structure, supporting both the players and the head of hockey in maintaining performance and continuity.
Key Responsibilities:

Head coach for the U16 team, ensuring that players are well prepared and aligned with 1st team structures.

Work closely with the 1st team coach to maintain a consistent philosophy and smooth transition of players into senior hockey.

Conduct small-group or individual technical sessions.

Assist with tactical unit training.

Observe matches and contribute to team analysis and player reviews.

Support themed sessions or video analysis when required.

Provide mentorship to junior coaches and contribute to consistency across the coaching team.

Help implement the seasonal plan and ensure high-performance alignment across the programme.
Candidate Profile:
We are seeking an individual with:

1st team/U16A coaching experience at school level.

A minimum of an SAHA level 2 coaching qualification.

Proven coaching and/or playing experience at a high level.
-
A team player who will support and collaborate with the head of hockey and coaching staff.
