Eligibility Criteria

South African citizen
-
Resident of KwaZulu-Natal or Mpumalanga

Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
-
Applied or registered for Agriculture studies at a recognized tertiary institution or Agricultural College
-
Household income between R350,000 – R600,000 per year
-
Preference given to:
-
Children of sugarcane farmworkers
-
Disadvantaged applicants from sugarcane-growing areas
-
First-year students near sugar mills or administrative infrastructure

Selection Process

Shortlisting based on Grade 11 final results, Matric June results, or latest tertiary results

Interviews: Mid-December 2025

Final selection: By 31 January 2026

SITFE may withdraw bursary if full funding/loans are received from other sources
