Position Overview:
Applewood Preparatory School is seeking an innovative and passionate Music Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will inspire a love for music among learners from Preschool to Grade 7 and contribute to the school’s vibrant cultural life. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and management skills within a supportive Christian-ethos environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach 12 half-hour lessons per week.

Co-ordinate and source private Music teachers for individual tuition.

Offer private Music tuition on an instrument (privately billed to parents to supplement the base salary).

Assist the choirmaster with weekly choir practices.

Organise and attend school Musical Tours when required.

Organise and direct the school’s annual Culture Evening in September.

Inspire and engage learners to develop their musical and performance skills.

Contribute to the broader life of the school and uphold its values.
Basic Requirements:

A Music qualification recognised by SACE for registration as a Music Teacher.

Ability to play the piano/keyboard and/or at least one other instrument.

Eligibility for full SACE registration.

Police Clearance, National Sex Offenders Register Clearance, and Child Protection Register Clearance (to be managed by the school).

Strong work ethic, teamwork, initiative, and the ability to engage learners creatively.

Alignment with the Christian ethos of the school.
