Role Overview:

The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining packaging equipment and related processes to ensure optimal efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role requires attention to detail, technical competence, and adherence to safety and operational standards.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual and automatic packaging equipment according to standards.

  • Interpret and implement the production plan for the shift.

  • Monitor and manage associated processes and performance.

  • Ensure process quality and productivity are maintained.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as tracking, monitoring, and corrective actions.

  • Manage PIMS & POMS systems and address negative trends.

  • Use MES for process checks and downtime acknowledgment.

  • Apply OFRs as per triggers.

  • Contribute to AB reports as required.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by raising Safety Improvement Opportunities (SIOs).


Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 minimum.

  • Post-matric qualification (e.g., N4 National Diploma or equivalent).

  • Technical background.

  • Added advantage: IOB Certificate.

  • Knowledge of SAM/LOTOTO procedures.

  • Training: Minimum 9 months on-the-job training and completion of SKAP within 12 months.

  • Experience in a FMCG packaging environment.
