Role Overview:

The teacher will be responsible for teaching:

  • Grades 7–9: Social Sciences

  • Grades 10–12: English

  • Additional teaching: IT, Economics, PE, or Art experience is advantageous.

The role involves:

  • One-on-one teaching and small group instruction tailored to student ability.

  • Managing student schedules, deadlines, and progress.

  • Providing feedback, remediation, and enrichment as needed.

  • Supporting high school students in American High School Diploma courses, as well as preparing Grade 12 students for NBT and SAT tests.


Key Responsibilities:

Middle School (Grades 7–9 Social Sciences):

  • Master all subject matter.

  • Teach both groups and individual students.

  • Track weekly deadlines and ensure coursework completion.

  • Mark and record work within 24 hours.

  • Provide feedback and support.

High School (Grades 10–12 English):

  • Teach UNHS and CTTH English courses.

  • Facilitate elective courses as required.

  • Manage coursework, projects, and progress tests.

  • Prepare students for NBT and SAT.

General Responsibilities:

  • On campus 08:00–15:30.

  • Update marking and assessment schedules weekly.

  • Compile transcripts, write reports, attend staff meetings, and parent evenings.

  • Arrange curricular-related outings.

  • Attend professional development sessions.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Fully qualified South African high school teacher, SACE registered.

  • Willingness to engage with Jewish values and practices.

  • Self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and able to multitask.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and build student confidence.

  • Excellent computer literacy, including Google Suite.

  • Professional and modest in line with the school’s traditional values.
