About the Role:
Nova Pioneer is seeking a dynamic Afrikaans (Second Language) Teacher for its Ormonde Secondary School, starting January 2026. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students through innovative, enquiry-based teaching and to contribute to the development of Africa’s next generation of leaders and innovators.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with learning designers to create impactful, enquiry-driven lessons.

Deliver engaging instruction that incorporates technology effectively.

Coach and mentor apprentice teachers.

Inspire joy, curiosity, and academic excellence in students.

Set ambitious goals and provide constructive feedback.

Use assessment data to refine instructional strategies.

Participate in professional development, coaching, and team meetings.

Communicate regularly with parents and participate in co-curricular activities.

Support school events and uphold Nova Pioneer’s culture and values.
Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Bachelor’s + PGCE.

SACE registration (required).

Proven experience teaching Afrikaans in a classroom setting.

Proficiency in spoken, written, and reading Afrikaans.

Experience with the Cambridge curriculum (advantageous).

Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.

Passion for enquiry-based, student-centred learning.

Tech-savvy and collaborative team player.
