Social Grant Increases and October 2024 Payment Schedule
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) would like to notify social grant beneficiaries of an increase in social grant amounts, effective from October 2024. SASSA remains committed to providing vital support to South Africans in need and ensuring that grant payments are made on time and securely.
New Grant Amounts as of October 2024:
*Old Age Grant (Below 75 years): Increased from R2 180 (April 2024) to R2 190
*Old Age Grant (Above 75 years): Increased from R2 200 (April 2024) to R2 210
*War Veteran’s Grant: Increased from R2 200 (April 2024) to R2 210
*Disability Grant: Increased from R2 180 (April 2024) to R2 190
*Care Dependency Grant: Increased from R2 180 (April 2024) to R2 190
This increase, in addition to the increase earlier in April 2024, reflects governments commitment to improving the welfare of all grant beneficiaries.
Furthermore, payment dates for October 2024 are as follows:
*Older Persons’ Grants will be paid from 02 October 2024, this includes any grants linked to these accounts
* Disability Grants will be paid from 03 October 2024, this includes any grants linked to these accounts
*Children’s Grants and all other grants will be paid from 04 October 2024
Beneficiaries are kindly reminded that there is no need to rush to withdraw funds on the first payment day, or to withdraw all their funds at once. It is safer to keep your funds in your bank account, transact with your card and only draw small amounts at a time. Funds will remain in client’s accounts and will not be forfeited if not withdrawn immediately.
