Physical Education Teacher

Requirements

Applicants for the Physical Education Teacher position must meet the following criteria:

  • Willingness to embrace and contribute to the ethos, values, and mission of the College.

  • Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators).

  • Clearance certificate with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register.

  • Proof of registration in studying towards a recognised degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching or academic qualification, or a completed qualification (e.g., sport sciences, human movement sciences).

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position (e.g., coaching or teaching).

  • Proven ability in coaching and managing a range of school sporting codes and delivering CAPS-aligned Physical Education lessons for Grades RR to 6.

  • Experience in supporting internal and external school sporting events, including inter-house competitions, trials, and festivals.

  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and creative approach to teaching.

  • Ability to develop and sustain new and progressive teaching ideas and work cooperatively within a team.

  • Open to embracing new methodologies in teaching.

  • Flexible, dynamic, and open to learning.

  • Strong administrative, technological, and communication skills.

  • Ability to meet and work effectively with all stakeholders, parents, and professionals in the school context to develop the holistic wellbeing of the child.

  • Exceptional ethical and professional conduct.

  • Excellent command of the English language.

  • Willingness to lead and participate in the co-curricular programme of the College.
