🎵 Role Overview
Lebone II College seeks an experienced, inspiring, and visionary leader to head its Music Department. The successful candidate will champion an integrated and culturally diverse music and arts programme that reflects African traditions while embracing global musical influences.
🏫 Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the Music & Culture Department aligned with the school’s mission.

Design and implement a comprehensive cultural and musical programme that celebrates African and international traditions.

Teach Music to Grades 8–12, delivering the IEB syllabus and preparing students for exams, performances, and competitions.

Promote African music traditions such as marimba, drumming, choral singing, and dance, alongside Western classical and contemporary styles.

Manage and mentor staff, including peripatetic music teachers and cultural coaches.

Organise concerts, festivals, drama productions, and community cultural events.

Oversee departmental administration: timetabling, budgets, planning, and performance reports.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor of Music Degree or higher with a professional teaching qualification.

Minimum 4 years’ leadership experience in a similar role.

Advanced piano proficiency (accompaniment level).

SACE registration.

Proven ability to teach IEB Music up to Grade 12.

Demonstrated success in building and managing extra-curricular cultural programmes.
