About the Opportunity:
The South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for 2 x Skilled Environmental Monitor positions under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) at Groenkloof National Park (Head Office).
This EPWP initiative provides short-term employment opportunities aimed at improving participants’ skills and employability within the environmental sector. The appointed Environmental Monitors will assist in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within SANParks’ facilities.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 certificate (Matric)
-
1–2 years’ cleaning experience

Experience in stock taking
-
Knowledge of First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
-
Good hygiene practices
-
Must be punctual, neat, and responsible
-
Ability to work under pressure
-
Willingness to comply with OHS regulations
Key Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Daily cleaning of offices, ablutions, reception areas, passages, and open spaces
-
Preparing boardrooms and meeting areas (including refreshments)
-
Reporting and following up on abnormalities or maintenance issues
-
Handling lost property according to standard procedures
-
Emptying waste bins and ensuring proper waste disposal
-
Managing and controlling cleaning materials and supplies
-
Maintaining high cleaning standards at all times
-
Assisting during emergencies and relief schedules as directed by supervisors
-
Replenishing consumables (e.g., soap, towels, toilet paper)
-
Assisting with stock issuing, receiving, and stock taking
-
Performing other ad hoc tasks as assigned
