Position Overview

The High School Learning Support Teacher will provide academic, social, and emotional support to students with mild to moderate learning needs within a mainstream environment. This includes teaching Learning Support classes, co-teaching in core subjects, and collaborating closely with staff, parents, and administrators to develop and implement inclusive practices across the school.

The role is a key component of the Student Success Team, working in partnership with counselors, general education teachers, and the K–12 Inclusion Services Team.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education / Learning Support (Master’s preferred)

  • Valid license or certification in Special Education / Learning Support


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Successful experience teaching Learning Support at the secondary level

  • Expertise in planning Tier 3 interventions and supporting students with diverse learning needs

  • Experience teaching or supporting Math and Sciences

  • Familiarity with implementing a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS)

  • Ability to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) using student data

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff

  • Proven belief that all students can learn and succeed

  • Experience leading or inspiring innovative educational practices

  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement

  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural, international environment

  • Experience leading professional learning for colleagues
