Position Overview
Clifton School is seeking a Remedial Therapist to join the Academic Support Unit in the Preparatory School as an independent practitioner starting January 2026. The role involves providing one-on-one remedial therapy to primary school boys (Grades R–7) in both English and Mathematics, supporting inclusive education practices, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and fellow therapists.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Teaching qualification plus a postgraduate qualification in inclusive/special needs/remedial education

Registration with SACE
-
Police, Sexual Offenders Register, and Child Protection Act clearances
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a school-based remedial role (advantageous)

Experience with NumberSense Mathematics, Time2Read, and synthetic phonics

Key Duties

Support the collaborative structure of the Academic Support Unit

Work with pupils, parents, therapists, and teaching staff to support learning needs
-
Assess pupils’ learning barriers both quantitatively and qualitatively
-
Provide individualized remedial therapy sessions
-
Develop therapy plans, make referrals, and assist with classroom strategy implementation

Manage and maintain pupil records

Occasional pro-bono work may be required
