Overall Purpose of the Job

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will provide an effective and efficient generalist HR function aligned with departmental and company strategic goals. This role partners with management and academic staff across Abbotts, Evolve Online, and The Bridge Schools to deliver comprehensive HR strategy, support, and service.

The HRBP will focus on strategic partnership, talent management, transformation, recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, and culture-building initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

1. Brand HR Planning

  • Develop and manage HR plans supporting brand and departmental goals.

  • Partner with management to create HR strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Identify people-related risks and implement proactive change management strategies.

2. Talent Management

  • Implement talent management and succession planning frameworks.

  • Support leadership development and performance management.

  • Identify and retain key and scarce skills.

3. Transformation

  • Support Employment Equity and diversity initiatives.

  • Track and report on transformation progress and targets.

4. Talent Sourcing & Onboarding

  • Develop recruitment plans and talent pipelines.

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.

  • Advise on organisational design and workforce planning.

5. Talent Development & Mentorship

  • Implement career development and coaching programmes.

  • Support continuous learning and leadership development initiatives.

6. Performance Management

  • Drive performance culture through effective feedback systems.

  • Guide managers in addressing performance issues constructively.

7. Compensation & Benefits (Total Rewards)

  • Manage workforce planning and budget reporting.

  • Conduct salary benchmarking to ensure equity and competitiveness.

8. Employee Relations

  • Advise on labour legislation and internal policies.

  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and wellness initiatives.

9. HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Produce accurate HR reports with insights and trend analyses.

  • Maintain HR system data integrity.

10. HR Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation and HR policies.

  • Identify HR risks and implement mitigation strategies.

11. Culture & Engagement

  • Promote company values, diversity, and continuous learning.

  • Foster employee engagement and wellness.


Educational Requirements

Minimum:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree

Ideal:

  • BCom in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology

  • Business Degree / B-Tech


Experience Requirements

  • 5–8 years as HR Consultant/Officer

  • 3 years in a managerial role

  • Experience within the Education Sector is an advantage
