Job Overview
St Charles College seeks an authentic leader in basketball who can mentor and inspire young men through sport. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, work ethic, and technical basketball expertise, and will be committed to the holistic development of boys in line with the College’s values.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of students and coaches within a respected independent all-boys school environment.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the First Team Coach to develop and implement gameplay strategies.

Prepare and coordinate fixtures, venues, referees, and support staff for inter-school matches.

Work with the Director of Sport to organise participation in external tournaments.

Plan and host the College’s own basketball tournament.

Train and mentor coaches, referees, and table officials.

Recruit and manage qualified coaches within the basketball programme.

Ensure maintenance and care of all basketball facilities, courts, and equipment.

Collaborate with the Sports Science and Conditioning team to optimise player performance.

Coordinate with other schools for regional and provincial team selection.

Manage and oversee the basketball programme budget.

Contribute to sports development and physical education within the College.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
-
Relevant Tertiary Qualification.

Recognised Basketball Coaching Certification.
-
2–5 years’ experience in a similar or related leadership position.

Proven high-performance coaching experience (essential).
-
Ability to teach at senior school level and/or experience in strength and conditioning (advantageous).
