Job Description:
The ADvTECH Schools Division is seeking an experienced and passionate teacher to plan, implement, and assess educational programs in Accounting and Business Studies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding and encouraging students in their academic development, preparing them for life, and fostering meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Delivery (40%)

Stay updated with future-focused educational trends and incorporate them into teaching.

Implement the school curriculum, delivering differentiated and engaging lessons.

Use technology and learning resources to enhance teaching and make lessons exciting.
-
Plan and deliver lessons tailored to meet the needs of individual students.

Enrich the curriculum with exciting teaching practices and relevant learning aids.

Identify enrichment and extension opportunities for students.
-
Provide academic support to students as needed, both during and outside class hours.

Participate in professional development to improve teaching practices.
Academic Assessment and Reporting (20%)
-
Continuously assess and monitor students’ progress and maintain detailed records.

Conduct formative and summative assessments to guide student learning.
-
Provide feedback and report on student performance to parents and management.
-
Participate in moderation and standardisation of assessments.
Student Behaviour Management (15%)
-
Establish and maintain classroom rules and procedures for student behavior.
-
Foster students’ personal, social, and emotional well-being.
-
Identify barriers to learning and initiate support for individual students.
-
Provide mentorship and guidance to students as needed.
School Brand Ambassadorship (15%)

Embody and promote the Crawford International mission and values.

Act as a role model for students and colleagues in professionalism and work ethic.

Support school activities, including extra murals, assemblies, and open days.

Contribute to the professional development of new teachers and student teachers.

Represent the school at various events and contribute to its positive image.
Administration (10%)

Assist with the planning of school excursions and maintain a dynamic learning environment.

Ensure classroom resources are well-maintained and readily available.

Collaborate with the school management team to ensure efficient school operation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) and PGCE/HDE or B.Ed (FET/GET) with specialization in Accounting and Business Studies.

Valid SACE Certificate.
-
Police Clearance.
-
3-5 years teaching experience with a focus on Accounting and Business Studies.
-
Experience with IB curriculum and IEB teaching or matric marking is desirable.

First Aid certification is a plus.
