Position Overview
Maritzburg Christian School is seeking a qualified and experienced Physical Science/Life Science Educator for the FET Phase to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a passion for teaching these critical subjects, with a special focus on fostering a positive and values-based learning environment.
Key Requirements

Qualifications: Relevant degree and SACE registration.

Teaching Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in teaching Physical Science and Life Science at the FET phase level.

Christian Ethos: Must be able to fully support and uphold the school’s Christian values.

IEB Experience: Previous IEB teaching experience and marking experience will be an advantage.

Police Clearance: Proof of a valid police clearance certificate required.
Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons for Physical Science and Life Science to FET students, ensuring content is engaging, rigorous, and aligned with curriculum standards.

Assessment & Feedback: Conduct regular assessments of student performance, provide timely and constructive feedback, and track individual progress.

Curriculum Development: Work collaboratively with colleagues to refine and develop the Science curriculum.

Christian Leadership: Model Christian values within the classroom and school community, promoting character development and positive social responsibility.

Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in the school’s extracurricular programs and community outreach initiatives, contributing to the overall student experience.
