Job Overview:
Booyco Electronics is looking for a Maintenance Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and systems at the mine site. This position requires a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently in a challenging mining environment. The role will ensure that all systems are installed and maintained to ensure their optimal operation, delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance:
-
Install systems in compliance with technical specifications and safety protocols.

Conduct surveys and pre-install assessments before system installations.

Perform routine maintenance and fault repairs.
-
Ensure compliance with mine electrical and mechanical standards.

Commission and test systems, providing clients with guidance on system use.

Technical Support:

Provide on-site troubleshooting for any technical issues.

Assist in both lab and field testing of new and existing systems.

System Optimisation:

Monitor system performance and suggest enhancements or upgrades.

Collaborate with the engineering team to improve products and processes.

Documentation & Reporting:
-
Compile detailed service reports, Certificate of Compliance (COC), audit records, and timesheets.

Keep accurate and up-to-date records of technical work, client interactions, and maintenance activities.

Compliance & Safety:
-
Adhere to safety protocols and mining site regulations.
-
Report hazards and incidents promptly and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications: Qualified Artisan (Red Seal) Electrician or Automotive Electrician.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in electronic installations, with a strong understanding of electronic systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.

Other Requirements:

Own transport and a valid driver’s license.

Willingness to travel and work overtime.

Medically fit to work on a mine (both underground and surface work).

Strong knowledge of electronic systems, both for installation and repair.

Ability to perform on-site troubleshooting and system optimizations.
