Job Overview:
Ivanplats, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. As part of the development of a “mine of the future,” the company is seeking a Load Haul Dump (LHD) Operator to join their team and assist with underground mining operations using state-of-the-art mechanised methods and technology.
Key Responsibilities:

LHD Equipment Operation:
-
Safely operate Load Haul Dump (LHD) equipment in an underground mining environment.
-
Load and transport ore within the mine to the appropriate locations.

Ensure optimal use of LHD equipment to achieve mining targets according to the mining plan.

Maintenance & Safety:
-
Minimize machine damage by adopting good operating practices.
-
Ensure the LHD machine is refueled and cleaned at the end of every shift.

Fill in all necessary paperwork and reports related to the operation.

Assist in performing the workplace Safe Declaration as required.

General Duties:
-
Transport ore to trucks and underground tip excavations.
-
Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:
-
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Matric / NQF Level 4.
-
LHD operator training certificate / license.
-
Competent B certificate (for working in an underground mining environment).

Experience:
-
At least 1 year of practical experience in operating LHD equipment in an underground mining environment.

Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground.
-
Knowledge of underground trackless mobile equipment practices and operations.

Additional Requirements:

Strong safety awareness and adherence to operational protocols.

Ability to work efficiently and independently in a challenging underground mining environment.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
