Job Overview:
The International School of Cape Town is seeking a passionate, creative, and nurturing Spanish-speaking Primary School Teacher for a part-time position starting in January 2026. This teacher will be responsible for teaching Spanish across Grades 3 to 6 (ages 7-12). The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a love for language learning in young children and creating a fun, inspiring, and safe environment that supports both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Instruction:

Teach Spanish for seven (7) hours a week, scheduled across two days.

Deliver engaging and age-appropriate Spanish lessons to students in Grades 3 to 6.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Classroom Management:
-
Create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
-
Ensure students feel supported and motivated to learn.

Assessment and Reporting:
-
Assess, record, and report on students’ progress and development.

Provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.

Collaboration:
-
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to ensure the overall development of students.

Support learners’ emotional and social growth.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification.
-
Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) and in good standing.

Experience:
-
Proven experience teaching in a Primary School setting.

Skills:
-
Strong communication, planning, and classroom management skills.

Competence with educational technology tools.
-
A passion for Primary School education and a growth mindset.

Advantageous:

Knowledge and experience teaching the Cambridge Curriculum.
