Position Purpose
To provide high-quality teaching and learning during the absence of the permanent Foundation Phase teacher, ensuring continuity of education and the holistic development of Grade 2 learners in accordance with SAHETI’s ethos and academic standards.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education (Foundation Phase) or equivalent.

SACE registration (active and in good standing).

Proven experience teaching Foundation Phase (Grade 2).

Knowledge of IEB curriculum and child-centered teaching methodologies.
-
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
-
Clearance Certificate in terms of the Sexual Offenders’ Register.

Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with IEB curriculum.

Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.

Prepare daily lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials.

Monitor and report on learners’ academic progress and wellbeing.

Collaborate with grade partners, phase heads, and support staff.

Communicate with parents/guardians as needed.

Uphold school policies, values, and safeguarding procedures.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities.
