Job Overview:
Curro Edenvale Combined is seeking a full-time Accounting Teacher for the FET Phase (Grades 10-12). The role involves teaching Accounting as per the Curro curriculum and providing a comprehensive learning experience that includes knowledge transfer, skills development, and fostering positive attitudes among learners. The teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence.
Key Performance Areas:

Lesson Planning and Delivery:

Plan and deliver lessons using modern teaching tools and methods, setting up workbooks, and tracking academic improvement and achievement.

Term Planning and Adjustments:
-
Set up, implement, and monitor term plans, adjusting them as necessary, taking into account exams, assessments, school activities, and differentiated learning materials.

Assessment Management:

Develop and implement baseline assessments to gauge knowledge levels and make recommendations for subject choices, teaching strategies, and remedial programs based on assessment outcomes.

Classroom Management:
-
Manage the classroom environment, ensuring optimal performance through proper classroom design, assessment rosters, and disciplinary rules. Communicate effectively with learners and parents.

Continuous Assessment and Homework Management:

Set up and manage formal and continuous assessments, homework assignments, and ensure proper moderation, revision, and supervision.

Extramural Activities and Tutoring:

Plan and manage extracurricular activities and outings. Provide additional tutoring and extra lessons as needed to support student success.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
-
Educational Qualification:
-
BEd, BA degree, or PGCE in FET Phase Education (an honours degree in the relevant subject area is advantageous).

Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.

Curriculum Knowledge:
-
Proficiency in the IEB curriculum.

Skills:
-
Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
-
Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
-
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
-
SACE registration is a must.

Clear criminal record.
