About the Role:
Curro Holdings is seeking a Mathematics and Maths Literacy Teacher for the FET phase at Curro DigiED Jewel City in Johannesburg, with the position to commence in January 2026. As part of this role, the teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and coordinating lessons for Mathematics and Maths Literacy, ensuring that students are supported in achieving academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan and teach lessons using modern tools and processes, design workbooks, and measure academic progress.

Term Planning: Develop and monitor term plans, adjusting for exams, assessments, and extracurricular activities, while ensuring differentiated learning for students with diverse needs.

Assessments: Set up and manage formal and continuous assessments, homework, revision, and moderation. Track academic achievement and adjust teaching methods as necessary.

Classroom Management: Organize classroom setup, manage discipline, and ensure effective communication with students and parents.

Student Support: Offer one-on-one tutoring and extra lessons to students needing additional support.

Extramural Activities: Plan and assist in organizing extracurricular activities and outings.

Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to share best practices and integrate curriculum goals.
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
-
BEd, BA degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education.

Honours degree in the relevant subject is advantageous.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teacher in the FET phase.

Knowledge and experience with the IEB curriculum.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other educational tools.

Ability to work extended hours and on weekends when necessary.

Other Requirements:

SACE-registered.

Clear criminal record.
