About the Role:
Curro Holdings is looking for a passionate Intermediate Phase Teacher for English Home Language (HL) at Curro Oakdene in Johannesburg North. The position is full-time and will begin in January 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and coordinating English HL as part of the Curro curriculum and will play a key role in the academic development of learners at this level.
Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Delivery: Develop engaging lesson plans using modern teaching tools and techniques, ensuring academic improvement and learner development.

Classroom Management: Effectively manage the classroom to foster a conducive learning environment, ensuring discipline, optimal performance, and strong communication with learners and parents.

Assessment & Reporting: Create, implement, and manage assessments (both formal and informal), as well as track student progress and provide feedback.

Homework & Revision: Plan and manage homework assignments, including revisions, and oversee peer marking.

Extracurricular Activities: Organize and participate in extracurricular activities and outings, enhancing the holistic development of students.
Qualifications & Experience:

Qualification: A BEd degree in Intermediate Phase Teaching.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in the Intermediate Phase.

Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the CAPS curriculum.

Skills:
-
Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Willing to work extended hours.

SACE Registration: Must be SACE-registered.

Clear Criminal Record: A clean criminal record is required.
