About the Role:
Curro Holdings is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified English HL teacher for the Intermediate Phase (Grades 4) at Curro Uitzicht, Cape Town Northern. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in English to primary school learners and will contribute to their overall development, knowledge transfer, and skills enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Teaching:
-
Plan and implement engaging lessons, using modern tools and methods, to facilitate students’ learning and academic growth.

Set up workbooks and track academic progress to ensure effective learning.

Term Plan & Classroom Management:
-
Review, adjust, and monitor the term plan based on the class pace and learning needs.
-
Design and organize the classroom for optimal performance, manage discipline, and maintain strong communication with students and parents.

Assessment & Homework Management:
-
Administer formal and continuous assessments, including moderation, revision, and managing the assessment roster.

Ensure homework is appropriately planned, managed, and peer-marked.

Extramural Activities & Outings:
-
Plan and manage extracurricular activities and school outings, contributing to students’ holistic development.

Qualifications & Experience:
-
Education:
-
BEd or equivalent in Intermediate Phase Teaching.
-

Experience:
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Intermediate Phase teacher.

Curriculum Knowledge:
-
Strong knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
-

Skills:
-
Proven ability in facilitation, problem-solving, and report writing.
-
Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Other Requirements:
-
Must be SACE-registered.
-
Clear criminal record.
-
Willing to work extended hours if required.
