🎯 Purpose of the Position
To provide psychosocial support services under the supervision of a qualified social worker within the Care & Treatment programme.
📚 Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work (recognized institution)
- At least 2 years relevant working experience
- Registered with SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions)
- Proficiency in English and isiXhosa
- Computer literacy (MS Office advantageous)
- Clear criminal record
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license
🧩 Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments
- Conduct household profiling using approved tools
- Provide community-based care and refer clients to appropriate services
- Support social workers in assessing patients, caregivers, and families
- Implement structured programmes including SASA
- Engage with stakeholders and community partners
- Assist with identifying advocacy issues
- Support youth care club implementation
- Make referrals based on client needs
- Submit monthly reports to supervisors
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of interventions
