🌟 About the Internship
Sol Plaatje Local Municipality is offering a Financial Management Grant (FMG) Internship Programme for unemployed graduates.
This 2-year structured programme is designed to develop skills in municipal finance, aligned with national standards and public sector requirements.
Interns will gain hands-on experience in:
- Budgeting
- Financial reporting
- Supply Chain Management
- Asset Management
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Assist with implementation of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA)
- Support budgeting and financial reporting processes
- Rotate across departments:
- Budget & Treasury
- Supply Chain
- Expenditure & Revenue
- Compile and submit a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE)
- Attend training and development programmes
🎓 Minimum Requirements
- BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Strong computer literacy (especially MS Excel)
- Knowledge of MFMA (advantage)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be unemployed
- Must not have participated in a similar internship before
