About the Municipality
- The Joe Morolong Local Municipality, located in Churchill, approximately 26 km from Kuruman in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District of the Northern Cape Province, invites applications for its Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) for 2026.

About the Internship Programme
- The MFMIP is a 24-month structured internship focused on:
- Practical training in municipal budgeting and treasury functions
- Alignment with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Act 56 of 2003
- Bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world municipal finance practice
Internship Details
- Positions Available: 5
- Duration: 24 months
- Annual Remuneration: R100,000 (all-inclusive; amount may vary based on the year of internship)
- 📄 Interns will be required to sign:
- An employment contract
- An internship agreement to ensure full participation in both academic and practical learning components.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens aged between 21 and 35 years
- Hold at least a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma
- Have majored in one or more of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Risk Management
- Auditing
- Be committed to fully participating in the programme and adhering to all municipal policies and procedures
