Educational Requirements
- To be eligible, candidates must have:
- ✔️ A completed three-year tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in:
- Data Science
- Statistics
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Or a related field
- OR
- ✔️ A completed Higher Certificate or Occupational Qualification at NQF Level 5 in a related field
- ❌ Not eligible: Candidates currently studying or who hold N4–N6 qualifications (per MICT SETA guidelines)
Key Responsibilities
- As a Data Scientist Intern, you will:
- 📊 Collect & clean data: Gather and prepare datasets for analysis
- 🧠 Analyze & model data: Assist in testing algorithms and developing data models
- 📈 Visualize insights: Create visualizations and reports using tools such as Excel or Jupyter Notebooks
- 🧩 Solve real-world problems: Use data science methods to drive business decisions
- 🤝 Collaborate with teams: Work alongside developers, analysts, and stakeholders
- 📝 Document findings: Record results and processes for internal use and knowledge sharing
