This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced artisans with CNC machining expertise to join one of the largest open-pit coal mines in the world.
✅ Minimum Requirements
Education & Trade:
-
Grade 12 / Standard 10
-
N3 in relevant trade theory subjects

Recognized Fitter/Turner Trade Certificate (MQA or QCTO)
Experience:
-
2–3 years in technical/mechanical/electrical maintenance
-
Experience in heavy industry or mining environments
Additional Requirements:

Certificate of Fitness (conducted by Exxaro)

Psychometric Assessment (Exxaro)

Proven CNC programming and operation (lathe & milling machines)

Core and On-the-Job MQA Modules

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
🛠️ Core Responsibilities
1. CNC Machining

Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines

Ensure precision machining and component accuracy

Conduct regular machine checks and tuning
2. Preventative Maintenance

Perform routine inspections and mechanical maintenance

Diagnose and repair faults to minimize breakdowns
-
Keep maintenance records updated
3. Mentorship & Training
-
Train and guide Artisan Aides and learners
-
Promote a hands-on, knowledge-sharing workplace culture
4. Safety & Compliance
-
Follow SHEC (Safety, Health, Environment & Community) protocols

Conduct hazard identification and report risks

Perform quality control on mechanical components
5. Resource Planning

Manage tools and materials efficiently

Coordinate resources to prevent production delays
