Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Frontshop Assistant to work at Atterbury Value Mart in Pretoria. This role involves merchandising practices and maintaining stock control in line with The Local Choice Corporate Stores policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the store’s merchandise is displayed correctly and efficiently to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management:
-
Restock merchandise when necessary to ensure maximum sales.

Ensure all stock is properly stored and packed in the correct space.
-
Adhere to the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle for stock rotation.
-
Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged or expired stock to management.
-
Assist in stocktaking and cycle counts.
-

Merchandising:
-
Maintain well-organized and tidy shelves and storerooms.
-
Ensure correct labels, pricing, and product presentation on the shelves.
-
Build, face up, and maintain merchandising displays according to company standards.
-
Ensure proper handling of merchandise to avoid loss or damage.

Customer Service:
-
Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous service to all customers.
-
Resolve any customer queries or stock issues promptly.
-
Assist customers with back shopping when needed.
-

Store Maintenance:
-
Ensure your workstation and store areas are always clean and tidy.
-
Adhere to health and safety regulations.
-
Wear the correct uniform and name badge at all times.

Team Support:
-
Assist with the training of new and current team members.
-
Report any suspicious behavior by staff or customers to management.

Minimum Requirements:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
0 – 6 months retail work experience.
Advantageous:
-
1 year retail work experience.
-
Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry.
-
Familiarity with planograms and category knowledge.
-
Second additional language is a plus.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Driver’s license or reliable transport is required.
