They are currently seeking a dedicated Foundation Phase Afrikaans Teacher (FAL) to join their dynamic and innovative team.


Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Learning: Plan and deliver engaging, boy-centered Afrikaans (FAL) lessons suitable for the developmental stage of Foundation Phase learners.

  • Differentiated Teaching: Adapt lessons to meet a variety of learning needs and styles, ensuring every boy’s potential is nurtured.

  • Innovative Approaches: Use creative, age-appropriate strategies to stimulate and engage young learners.

  • Academic & Pastoral Development: Take responsibility for both the academic and personal growth of the boys, implementing interventions where needed.

  • Administrative Skills: Manage lesson planning, student assessments, and reporting with attention to detail.

  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic teaching team, contributing to the overall success of the school.

  • Parental Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, engaging them in their child’s educational journey.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years teaching Afrikaans, preferably in the Foundation Phase.

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution.

    • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

    • SACE Registration.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Ability to create a warm, nurturing classroom environment.

    • Understanding of child development and the ability to cater to individual needs.

    • Fluency in both Afrikaans and English.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate with parents and colleagues.

  • Additional Qualities:

    • A candidate’s warmth, thoughtfulness, and depth will be carefully considered.

    • Commitment to providing a boy-centered, holistic educational approach.
